@jcboy,
Cool!

I don't see any sketching or projection -- he just does it freehand?

@sozobe,
I don’t believe he does any sketching, everything is freehand! I love the one he did of Marilyn Monroe but he already sold it!

@jcboy,
Wow!

I didn't even see him looking at any source material -- just all in his head? (That's impressive if so. I can draw OK but definitely have to have something there to draw, an object or a photo or whatever.)

@sozobe,
He’s very good, it’s paying for his college education, he’s currently going to USF.

His Lady Ga Ga.

@boomerang,
I am, depending on the size of the photo about 6 hours. I usually start on one then stop for a day or so because of my school schedule. I study a photo and get the image in my head and just go from there.

@sozobe,
Thanks! I plan on making one for the boys as a house-warming gift for their new home. That's my next project.

@Wildhourses,
Aw, they'll love it.

Hey do a portrait of one of their animals!

Or a series of small portraits of ALL of the animals! (That would be a lot of work.) (And would be out of date within 6 months, tops, as more animals are added to the menagerie... Very Happy)

@Wildhourses,
I'm not even in the same league as morgan's friend. very impressive...

I think my next project will involve old shovels and iron circles with miscellaneous implements and odd metal bits to make yardbirds...

You're good - I remarked on the link.

I'm not all so enamored with your results (sorry, and you'd hate hate hate mine probably spitting) while I think the results are very viable commercially - very viable;

but I am interested in your process, liked your description of it. So, I like your brain.

I think you'll be apt to venture.

Quote:
San Francisco based artist Liz Hickok is well versed in a multitude of things including photography, video, and as you will see here sculpture art. Fittingly titled ‘Hickok’s Cityscapes in Jell-O,’ the series revolves around an entire city built entirely from colorful Jell-O sculptures.
