I write a bit of silly rhyme
That really isn't hard
But you lot, some of the time
Are equal to the bard!
Didn't mean any offence Letty - I should have put a smiley with that earlier post.
New Zealand ain't exactly cold
It's only rather wet
The river's running down the street
And the rain's not stopping yet!
(I'm not kidding, my town has just been taken over by the river)
My son is very ill. I'll check in from time to time.
Letty
Letty, I'm so sorry to hear of your son's illness. Please keep us informed as you have time and if you want to share your feelings with us.
BBB
I'm sorry Letty, take care of him and yourself...
Letty, We all hope your son gets better very soon. We're thinking about you and your son, and hope for the best.
So sorry to hear that, Letty. All the very best for your son and you!
No news yet, but I am deeply grateful for your kind concern.
Oy, Letty! we'll be here waiting to hear from you. <sending hugs to the lower right of my continental photo>
And from me.
Hoping for good news soon
His deep and stronger voice,
Over the line
Transformed my silver tear into wine.
Life support, she said.
No need, just the hospitaled
Corner bed.
And even though I could not
See to see,
I heard those brown eyes
Looking back at me.
For Dave who can sing so beautifully:
Up all night I could not sleep
The whiskey that I drank was cheap
With shakin' hands I went and I lit up my last cigarette
Well the sun had kicked, night had fled
And sleepy eyed I reached my bed
I saw you sleepy dreamin' there all covered and warm
South city midnight lady
I'm much obliged indeed
You sure have saved this man whose soul was in need
I thought there was no reason
For all these things I do
But the smile that I sent down returned with you
When day has left the night behind
And shadows roll across my mind
I sometimes find myself alone out walkin' the street
Yes, and when I'm feelin' down and blue
Then all I do is think of you
And all my foolish problems seem to fade away
South city midnight lady
I'm much obliged indeed
You sure have saved this man whose soul was in need
I thought there was no reason
For all these things I do
But the smile that I sent down returned with you.
The Doobie Brothers.
Wonderful the strains of music in my head.
Should any of you dear people be able to locate the lyrics to the a capella song by James Taylor and Carley Simon called "Look Down that Lonesome Road"(something like that) Please post them hear.
Not hugs, just a warm embrace to all of you.
And just a wee bit of levity. Ask Frank to pray for him. <smile>
I just saw this, Letty... agnostic prayers winging.
Letty, this is the closest JT I could find. There are many references to it being performed a cappella by a number of groups.
That Lonesome Road
Walk down that lonesome road all by yourself
Don't turn your head back over your shoulder
And only stop to rest yourself when the silver moon
Is shining high above the trees
If I had stopped to listen once or twice
If I had closed my mouth and opened my eyes
If I had cooled my head and warmed my heart
I'd not be on this road tonight
Carry on
Never mind feeling sorry for yourself
It doesn't save you from your troubled mind
Walk down that lonesome road all by yourself
Don't turn your head back over your shoulder
And only stop to rest yourself when the silver moon
Is shining high above the trees
James Taylor and Don Grolnick
edBeth, That is it...that is it. My son and his wife sang it together. Within the sound of the ocean....within the light of the rising moon...within the call of the surf............................................
Yes, live music to the tune of the sounding sea.
I'm saying a prayer for your son, for you, and for the family right this very minute.
Best wishes to you and your family, Letty.
Thank you, Eva, Jes, and all. It is not my intention to monopolize this thread, so I'll keep you all posted by some other means.
Love,
Letty
Some of us are singin', some of us are prayin', we're all thinking of you and your son, and wishin' you well. ((((( Letty and her boy )))))
