Okay.. In my brief time since joining A2k I have found that there is a WHOLE nother world out there in which I know NOTHING about, even if it's just a few miles away. The main two being that it is not uncommon for people to fantasize and write about sex with vampires and monsters. And secondly.. you can buy groceries online?? Both seemed to be common knowledge. So, what else do you guys know?? lol I challenge all you big city slickers to fill me in on the big life... Things you should know...
I've only been on more than two lane traffic four times in my life. Other than going to Kansas City, or St. Louis (through, more than to) the biggest town I"ve ever been in is 20,000.

WE can make it a game!! you get a point for every thing you think of that I didn't know that is interesting... and the winner will get a virtual tour of how to go cow tipping!!!

Whenever you do get out to a major city and set in a six lane traffic jam for a few hours, you're going to love it!

Oh it isn't common at all to fantasize about sex with vampires and monsters. And there may be books about that sort of thing, but it's not predominant by any stretch of the imagination.

The second part I have heard of. Personally, unless the stuff is brand name stuff in a container, I don't want someone else pickin' out my groceries.

I grew up in a "major" city in Sweden, Gothenburg, it was lovely...I wouldn't want to live there today, but still I would like to show y'all how it was where I grew up! It was great, forrests all over the place, we had our soccerteams, we had our territories staked out, we got our bruises, we fell down from trees, fell off our bikes, who was to blame but ourselves???

If you ever come to New York City in the summer and ride the subway:

If you see a subway car with only one person in it, do not get in. He or she might be dangerous, but the more likely scenario is that he or she is the most disgusting, sweaty, foul-smelling bum in the world. Trust me!

Do I get a point for that?

Okay, here's another one. If you are walking through Washington Square Park and a guy comes up to you and says, "smoke?", he's not asking you for a cigarette. He's asking you if you want to buy some pot.

OkOkOK, you got me... I shared an appartement(sp?) with a guy from Gainesville, GA, and he kinda gave me the the grammar... but do not ask me to pronounce bar, boston, or I'll sound like the shrub...

My best friend's from Boston, and my sister-in-law's from Athens, GA...

and my first visit to the States was for Christmas, in Georgia! It was fantastic!

Actually, it is among the young, geeky community. Some of it is tasteful, a lot of it isn't. The odd thing about the internet is weirdos can find other wierdos and have a community instead of being shunned (like they would in normal society) because of the gigantic scope of the internet you can always find someone who shares you views er, um, affliction.

One trend which I find particularly annoying are furries - people who like to have sex with people in animal costumes/think they are animals/ draw and fantasize and write about antropomorphized animals. Normally I would say hey what you do in the bedroom is your own business, but these people often don fur suits and go out and get hugged by strangers, get jobs as animals in amusement parks and get sexual kicks out of it. They are not ashamed of this, they brag about it - it's a wide online community.

I'm originally from St. Louis and you need to pay attention to what colors you wear in the bad part of East st. louis - there's a lot of gang activity there. Also in Cahokia.

If you go to a big city overseas as a tourist bring a pin to poke the old men who will try to grope you.
Also, if you go overseas and a bunch of children crowd around you - they are not being friendly they are trying to steal your money.

If you are in Russia avoid gangs of gypsies. They steal and put curses on you (not that curses matter.)

Avoid Asian cab drivers at all costs. They are too polite, and will not go up on the sidewalk to pass, no matter how hard you beg.

That's just one small part of the whole population though. Are you referring to goths or something else?

I don't, I'm just friends with a lot of internet geeks. If you're interested This Site shows a bunch of images picked at random from the internet. Everytime you refresh the page you get new images. It shows you the general content of the internet! Warning, not work safe.
The picture links used to be followable but they aren't anymore. There's a new site with clickable links but I don't have it bookmarked.

Gustav - look who I found for you
