I found this to be a fairly good riddle.
You can open and close me and touch me it's true,
You can alter me dismount me and kill me too,
I can be light as air, or heavy as lead,
If I am to survive, I may need to be fed,
I cannot be seen,
Nor can I be bought with money,
Flowing like water,
While sticky like honey
What am I?
Hmm, that is a pretty good one.
I would guess mind but it's one of those guessing for the sake of guessing types.
I actually typed in "mind" Adrian and then I read over the last two lines and they didn't seem to quite fit. Never know with these things though, we might be miles off.
I'll tell you this. You're close. "Thoughts" is on the right road, but you've not traveled the road far enough along it's course.

I like 'Heart' even better.
I know! LICE!! I heard of this guy that had so much lice he had to start feeding his hair, so he shampooed with jelly. Anyway, try it out it fits most of the riddle.
Nice guess SCoates, lol. Thoughts was a start, but what you guys want to get to are what thoughts later become down the road, not things that are akin to thoughts.

Some might feel this is a weird answer but it fits, as did some of yours almost. I was kind of dissapointed with the answer myself.
