I figured it was just easier to assume my account has been compromised, and I went ahead and changed the password.

The big thing to remember is that if you use the same password on multiple sites, then you need to change your password on all of the sites.

The big danger in a breach like this is that your password for your financial institution, or one of your E-mail accounts, was the same as your LinkedIn password.

0. I changed my password without even finding out whether it was one of the stolen passwords or not;
1. Linkedin will eventually email you;
2. Leakedin is a site where you can check:
