i've been on a strict diet for some 10 days now and if i lost one or two pounds, that's an exaggeration. i starve, i exercise, i eat no carbs, no sugar, no fat. what the bleep is going on?
i know, muscles...heavier than fat... whatever. it's bloody frustrating!

Try something gentler, dag. And kinder to your body. What's the big rush?

At least you've found a good outlet for all the frustration, Dag. You've been on a roll on A2K lately! Thanks so much for all the support! Let's go get 'em!

(Are you sure you really need to lose weight? In all the pics I've seen, you look just right.)

I've been a dancer / runner/ biker/ jockey all my life, never had an ounce of fat. I ain't saying I'm fat now, but *I* don't like myself and want to get rid of the buffer zone. I am also muscular and strongly built, so it shows even more, i'll never be slim per se - not constructed that way. Which I actually like, but ya know...it's all about me being happy. Which means in shape (i got there alright) and slim enough to appease my mental image of myself.

Doesn't happen overnight. Since I've lost 15lbs of mostly muscle in two weeks, it's been over a month of the gym and eating a lot, still haven't put a lot back on. But I'm approaching where I was strength-wise and can start seeing a difference. The lbs will come.

Same thing as losing weight. Stick to the excercise and diet, and it'll happen.

yep. well i can already tell the difference, but the scale cannot just yet. been working out like a fiend (sp?), and can see my muscles shaping up, but i want a numeric proof of weight loss. some acknowldedgement.

Yeah, the beginning is always the worst. Go by how your clothes fit instead for the first stretch.

Gritting my teeth today coz the flu that I have been battling has now shifted to what feels like a sinus infection Razz
Well, it has moved to the top of my body so next step and it's outta here, right??
I have not lost any significant weight while sick...eating plenty of garlic soup Wink Tastes better than it sounds...actually what do I know, I can't taste much of anything except those nasty herbal meds the naturopath has me on Razz And man they are nasty!!
I am sure you look great Dag Smile

I thought muscular and strong made it easier to hide fat.

Wink
I am also muscular and strongly built and man I have to work hard to hide what is NOT muscle Razz
Seems to me the muscles, instead of holding that which is NOT muscle in, it shoves it to the outside Razz A constant reminder that there is still a bit of work to be done!
Annoying as all hell if you ask me...

You can still have a "muscular" build and also be carrying excess fat at the same time.

We know that much... I though a good solid muscle mass below the fat would keep the fat bouyant and you in some sort of hourglass shape (as a woman). But, these two disagree.

I guess it all depends on what one means about showing one's fat. I'd rather have a fuller hour glass figure than droopy flabby skinnyness.
