((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Little k)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

MY TOOTH is making my life misery.

The one to the left of my top left front tooth, to be exact.

It's been a bit tetchy and cracked for a bit.......last night sometime it cracked from top to bottom....and is presumably exposing the nerve to the air.

Whatever the hell it is doing, it hurts like hell!!!

I am oil of cloving it to little effect.

Now I am in agony, but smell spicy.

Emergency dental appointment Monday at 12.

Well, it's Friday night at 10.30 pm now...so, no.

A little piece (which is what is left of the left third of the tooth) is kind of semi-dangling now......but I am not sure moving it is a good idea!

<wincing> sounds brutal, deb.

dunno about moving it vs not. At this point I'd say to do whatever causes the least discomfort.

Did the dentist give you/call in a prescription for some serious pain meds to help you get through the weekend?

No......I am, as I said, oil of cloving, and aspirin + codeining. If it gets too awful I guess I could drop in on a doctor.

I'm trying to use it as a way of not being too scared of pain.

Trial by fire, eh?

I've previously equated labor and delivery to a toothache that won't quit. At some point you're willing to go through anything just to get it over with.

Don't gotta be a hero re pain, imo. Better living through chemicals is a viable option in these cases.

I'm one of those people who doesn't like to take any pain drugs but, I gotta tell ya - I was happy to have the rx from the dentist when the pain got unbearable. It's a really good idea even if you do stay away from them usually.

Oh, I be dentisting asap.

And I'll go to some medico over the weekend if it's unbearable.

Managed to work with it kind of ok today, though.

I'm hoping the nerve is busy retreating. They do that, you know.

I'm on bloody dutyon Monday, of course....so I will need to work up until the appointment at least.

if I am all weird with anaesthetic lip after....and can't speak proper loike, I guess I'll have to go home....

Actually, I thought I was being overly dramatic until I LOOKED at the damn thing this afternoon...THEN I rang for an emergency appointment.

OY!
get meds
get them asap
or else do a temp filling yourself to cover the nerve

mmmm

I think for most people the answer is meds - exposed dental nerve pain is aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaccccccccccccccccccggggkkkkkkkkkkkggggggggg

It seems a little better after a long sleep.

If I can just avoid touching it with a bottom tooth!!!

I bought soft foods yesterday on the way home.

Just back from dentist.......

Lovely time.....full catastrophe.....abscess, root canal.......yummy.

Hopefully the pain will begin to settle now. Actually, it HAD settled quite a lot...as the infection killed the nerve, I suppose.

I am typing with the that lovely anaesthetic fat lip.

Poor you, Deb!

I've got a French idiom, if it can be of some consolation :

- Mal de dents, mal d'amour.

Considerably better than WITH the abscess and exposed nerve!!!!

However, the next 3 visits are not filling me with enthusiasm!

Francis......if that translates as sick teeth, sick love, I don't think it's comforting!

No, Deb, it doesn't translate that way.

It's more like "better a toothach that a heartach"..
