First, call the health center and insist they get your doctor to call the surgeon himself AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Remind them of your insurance situation, whatever that may be. Don't worry about inconveniencing them, it's their job. They handle these arrangements every day.
If you meekly follow their timetable, you'll see the surgeon for a consultation in two months, and then no telling how much longer until he can fit you into his surgery schedule. You don't have time for that. You have to be fully recuperated by the time you leave Boston.
Be proactive. Be insistent. Call them several times a day if you need to. Don't take "no" for an answer. Be...well, um...be yourself! (I know you can do it!)
