Did I also mention my car broke down AGAIN yesterday!!!!????

Last time, I was on my way to do some training!

I had had the battery replaced, and it was flat again. When the RAA came out, I said there must be a charging problem, but they said there wasn't. (Turns out it is intermittent to be fair to them) so they just gave me another battery, since the one I had bought from them a couple of weeks before was under warranty.

So..yesterday, I am driving (in intense heat) to a meeting.

I notice the airconditioning and fan are very weak, and the radio is faulty when I am stationary.

I turn off aircon and radio.

I am at a huge intersection, turning right.....I see a wee gap and go for it.....car moves at about a mile an hour!!!! I am now in front of 3 lines of fast moving traffic, which have right of way and moving acrsss their right of way at a mile an hour, praying the car will not stall.

I feel like the Queen, since so many kind drivers are waving at me, and calling out to me! Some are even making V for Victory signs (I think.....I am sweating and have fogged up my glasses).

The car eventually crawls out of their way, and begins to pick up speed.

I get to where I am going, knowing the car will now not start, and I will have a long wait for the RAA, so I park in the shade, in a disabled spot, with malice aforethought.

I have remained calm and cheerful.

I have just received backpay, with which i was going to rid myself of a chunk of debt, but at least I know I can probably afford to fix the car!

I go in to my meeting. Wrong day. I had not been informed of the change.

I am STILL calm and cheerful.

I wait for the RAA.

They come, start car, detect alternator fault, and I set off the many mies to my repair company, with no air con or fan, in the heat.

I am STILL calm and cheerful. Really, I am proud of myself by now>

I get to repair place, and arrange to have car fixed.

A taxi is called.

I have clients to see, I am in a hurry. This is the most timid, SLOW cabbie I have ever been driven by. The journey takes at least twice as long as it should, but he is so timid (clearly a new migrant and a new taxi driver) that I dare not say anything, as I know he will panic.

NOW I am stressed! I get so frustrated and peed off that all my previous equanimity and calm is gone! I am hot, red, and frazzled by the time I get back to work.

One day, I shall be able to maintain the zen through the slow taxi. Ommmmmmmmmmmmm.....

Deb, I am hereby awarding you today's prize for telling a mind-bogglingly awful & frustrating story in the most entertaining manner imaginable! Laughing

Bravo! <clap, clap, clap!>

But why do I have this feeling that the stress remains?

Here ya go, bunny: A nice glass of chilled white for you! Enjoy & relax!

Deb, I'd say you're not having a good week. Sympathies, kid. Dem cars is a menace to society. I say this with equanimity. Don't got one. Don't drive. The eternal passenger.

I admire how you held it together as long as you did. Good for you.

Not a good day, Sarah.

You've moving into a new place?

I hate moving with a vengeance. (I think I would rather die here than ever move again! <Shudder>)

You have my complete sympathy. I wish I could help out.

And I hope you find Rocky. (your cat?)

Good luck!

Thanks Msolga!

But I am moving to a much, much better place...

My bedroom window faces the Mersey Valley Nature Reserve, a lovely spot, and I can see the River Mersey - reminiscent of my Liverpool roots. I can watch dog walkers, golfers, kids on bikes, lovers hand in hand (sigh... and more grimacing).

I don't think you mind so (as) much if it's a better move. Start of my new life. I know I will be happy there, I felt a 'vibe' from the place.

You know you're welcome anytime, M... and that goes for the rest of you. Me Municipal Casa, sou Municipal Casa... though it goes to collective ownership this year, we have voted.

My pissyness started yesterday morning.

I woke up , had my coffee, and started getting ready for the day at my usual 530AM.

I am actually AHEAD of schedule yesterday morning and proud of myself. I get little Bean some breakfast made and go to wake her up as Ian is getting out of the shower.
I go into her room to find that she has puked in the night and slept in it for god knows how long.

I feel terrible. I didnt even hear her.
Normally, I can hear her cough.

So I get her out of bed, wrap her in a clean blanket and get to the couch to only learn that any movement makes her belly react again......and again...
Sad
Poor baby.
She is so sick she wont even talk. She is just laying in my arms looking at me. Sort of yellow faced, half awake, and just feeling miserable.

She was FINE Thursday night. So, Im thinking.. ( crap she got the flu) because it just came on TOO quick to be anything else.

So I take her to the sink, get a wash cloth and just wipe her down.. and daddy comes out of the bedroom.
He sees what I am doing and asks if she is ok.

I say " No. She threw up last night, has no fever, so I am thinking she might have a flu or something.."

He says " No. It is food poisoning."

Shocked

Uh.. What?

" Yeah. I took her to KFC last night. "

HERE is where I get pissed.
We dont eat that ****. She has NEVER eaten there. She does NOT eat fast food. Her little body cant handle it, and she is still growing for christs sake.

He said that she was hungry, so he thought a fast meal was cheaper there then going to the store.

I dont think I said much to him. And I could tell he felt bad. But.. damnit.
I had to miss a whole day of work , reschedule on a client that I rescheduled on LAST VISIT because she was sick then too... all because he didnt want to take the time to go to the grocery store and get her a good snack. WTF?

So, needless to say, she spent the whole day yesterday puking.. french fries, in perfect condition.
Her poop was so watery that I had to leave her in the tub for a while.
I could even see pieces of the chicken she ate, and I can tell you that she didnt like it.. because she didnt eat much, AND she didnt chew well. Confused

I had her sleep with me last night Very Happy
The first time in her LIFE that she slept with me.

oooooo I have to be careful.
I loved that. And if I do it too much, she will want to always sleep in my bed.
But.. (sigh) that was almost worth it. Smile

Why is he so sure it was food poisoning? Did he get sick too? Sounds like a stomach virus to me.

He might have felt guilty that he gave it to her to begin with.

But, I am not sure what it is at this point.

She is not puking, and has eated a few dried toasted'os, 1/2 banana and a little of a wheat waffle.

All has stayed down.

She still has runny poop though.

I'm g&g-ing because I received a letter from a collection agency saying that I owe them $39 and change because of an unpaid debt to Sprint.

I've never had a Sprint account.

I've spent some time researching how to word my written response to them. I'll be spending time and money sending that response certified, return receipt requested - all for a debt which can't possibly be mine. If I ignore it, it will go on my credit report. It might end up there anyway!

mac-

if you have never had a sprint account, be sure that you have never called a sprint PHONE long distance? Toll call ?

because if that doesnt hit your phone bill, or isnt paid by your phone carrier, then you will have a bill from Sprint.

what is the bill for? have they said?
