What? With all that leather and whip ensemble going on? That surprises me somewhat.

Sorry, your Lordship. I censored my comment - don't want to get thrown off A2K for lewd behaviour. But it was a good'un!

I once got thrown out of a poetry society for writing sexy poetry. Then the woman who threw me out had to ring the next day and ask me back as the men in the group threatened to leave if I left!

I have the same fate awaiting me this afternoon, Tarah. What with that, and the type of work I'm having to do today, I think I may be in need of a large stiff one (or three) come this evening.

Actually, Tarah's original post reminded me of my Mum, and what she used to say to her elderly female patients when she was a nurse.
Giving them an injection (obviously, she would only say it to those who had the right sense of humour) she would say....

"Don't worry, love, it's only a small prick, and will be in and out before you know it....just like your honeymoon"

First, my car, then this:

When I went into the garden yesterday - the shed had been broken into!
And some bastards stolen our Cristmas Decorations and tree!

Why would you want to steal someone elses decorations - doesn't make sense - how can you enjoy xmas knowing your decorations and tree are STOLEN, sorta makes a mockery of 'peace on earth, goodwill to all'...

Not that I ever believed that!

I'm not going to tell my grandaughter, don't want her to feel insecure where we live.

It didn't make me grimace and grit my teeth - but it did make me cry...

I just don't understand it, Ellpus...

Who would buy stolen xmas decs and a tree?

They're obviously not new - what kind of a person must you be to display someones stolen memories like that? Some of those tree ornaments were very old 'baby's first xmas' and things like that. I'm gutted by it!

They are cheap to replace - I can go to woolies and get some more - but all those things that you collect for years...

(sniff)

Sorry for the delay...I was just going out to walk the dog when I spotted your previous post.
Sarah, these people (offenders) fall into three categories...mad, bad or sad.

The vast majority are just sad. They have no clue as to what something is or isn't worth. They just break in, grab as much as they can and bugger off with it as fast as possible.
If you have any inkling as to where they might have headed, after leaving your place, it might be worth (in daylight, and in the safety of your car) just having a quick look round the area to see if there is anything that's been discarded that may look familiar to you.
Chances are, they went to a quiet place and, sorry to say, probably chucked the stuff that they thought had no value.
If it means a hell of a lot to you (sentimental reasons), it might just be worth having a quick look round.

What a shame this has happened. I hope that karma comes and bites them on the bum, one day.

Sarah, it might be worth another look round tomorrow, you never know.

I've got a fairy (no comments, Prince) that is falling apart and looks a bit forlorn but I remember it on my tree at home from when I was a very young kid.
I'll send it to you if you want.

Every tree should have a battered old thing on it somewhere.

I've been sticking a Christmas tree up its arse for the past forty odd years. Very Happy

As you said, Sarah, no new decorations can ever replace the ones that got stolen.

I once had a silver charm bracelet that was stolen. My parents had bought me charms throughout the years and no amount of insurance money could have bought a replacement.

But perhaps you can start to buy new decorations that will be the basis of a whole lifetime of tradition for your granddaughter.

Thanks everyone...

Made me go all weepy and fed-up now.

So I'm going to take a deep breath, puff my chest out and carry on regardless...

Although I would prefer Prince on top of my xmas tree, yes, Ellpus, we would be proud to display a Ellpus fairy on top of our tree!

WAIT!!

Please give me a bit of warning, as it takes a while to change my PC over to widescreen format, and I'd hate to miss it.

Damn. That sucks.

I bet it is the same creeps....

It almost hurts more losing those little, intimate things, than the big ones.

I have had a reasonable amount of money stolen, and my car.

But the thing that made me coruscate with rage was when someone stole my front doormat and mop.

I do hope you can get some nice things easily to replace tham.

Damn.

Could someone please help me out?

I'm grimacing furiously here. It's hideously hot & I'm supposed to be working on a job application. (An extremely long shot, but in the absence of anything better .... <sigh>) Anyway, I'm using any excuse (currently A2K) to avoid getting on with it.

I require someone, speaking with great authority, to tell me to get offline NOW & get on with it! Or else I'll be very sorry tomorrow.

Pathetic, aren't I?

Thanks in advance.
You're a brick!
