I found the website of an artist that paints cityscapes and loved her work, but have lost the bookmark and forgotten her name. Now I am trying to find her and no matter how many google searches I do, I'm striking out. I know this is kind of a needle in a haystack scenario, but I thought I would try posting here.

Here's what I remember: the artist is female, probably in her 40's. All of the work I remember seeing was of what I'd call cityscapes. (I'm no art expert so please forgive me if my terminology is not exact.) I would call her style slightly abstract, but not cartoonish (as some cityscapes can be, in my opinion). Her style seemed to be painting a canvas essentially a solid color and then using mostly a (different) single color over that to make the outlines of buildings, windows, etc. It sounds simple, but I thought they were unique and beautiful paintings. I bookmarked the page because I thought one day I'd be able to buy one. Now that day has come, but I've lost the bookmark (and have tried many things that I won't go into in attempt to recover it).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

@scoob82,
Difficult to get a name from so little information. Id suggest putting the term "grisaille cityscapes by women artists" (Also, itd be great if you knew what cities your speaking of.

Grisaille is a technique of monochromatic compositions using paint or pastel. I think the most defining thing is that its grisaille and the name of the cities.

Do you remember if she was American or otherwise? Also, it would help if you remembered if the painting were water colour or otherwise..
I would try terms with Urban landscapes.
Was it something like this or more focused?

@scoob82,
Thanks so much for the responses! I know I'm asking for a lot.

I tried searching for "grisaille cityscapes by women artists" and used some variations, but didn't find her.

She is definitely American. I *think* she is based in either San Francisco or the Napa/Sonoma area, but am not sure of that - and not sure why I think that. I've been searching for hours with those cities in the search terms and am not finding her. The web page I remember had a photo of her surrounded by several of her paintings, and I remember that image relatively well but that's about it. I bookmarked this about a year ago thinking "someday" and now I've learned that I get a new office and can pick out some art I want for my office. I naturally thought of this artist and naturally cannot find the bookmark or remember her name.

Of the two images that were posted, the first one is not abstract enough and the 2nd one is too abstract, if that narrows it down any. Smile There were a lot of lines. They were similar to pencil drawings but done with paint - meaning it had outlines of buildings, windows, doors and such but the paintings only used a few colors per piece.

I don't know if she uses watercolors or oil or something else. Wish I did.

Let's work on narrowing down the painting style. Here is a wide range of various styles. I'll number them so it is easier to talk about them.

Let us know if any are closer to the artistic style you are looking for.
