in the same room as her?

The following sentences are from the famous sitcom Friends.

Emily : I mean, I can't - I can't be in the same room as her! It drives me mad just thinking of you being in the same room as her!

I think that the original full sentence should be 'I can't be in the same room as she (is in the room)! It drives me mad just thinking of you being in the same room as she (is in the room)!'.

The sentences that I rewrote are incorrect?
I can't understand why 'her' is used instead of 'she' or 'she is'.
Is there any special usage of 'the same something as'?

Then, what if I say 'in the same room with her' instead?

I'll thank you for your kind explanations very much.

Any correction to my writing is welcome!

There are levels of English. In "grammar-book" English 'she' would be used but in ordinary speech this is rare. "Friends" is a American TV comedy where people speak in a famously informal, casual, modern and slangy way. Beware of using such material as an example to follow in the early stages of English learning.

@funfunny,

It's quite common to use this construction nowadays, and not considered wrong.

"Who's there"?
-"It's me".

"I'm not like him."

Strictly speaking, the verb to be takes the nominative case, but in all but the most formal texts nowadays, this rule is ignored.
