Why Do the Canadian NHL Teams SUCK?

Does it mention that most of them come from here and that it's often the prissy american wives that don't want to come, not the player. Does it mention the salary caps and that every team has only so many draft options? It's not like you can go out and buy a team. There are serious restrictions. Does it mention that many great players have died in obscurity playing on American teams? You may have the money, but not every American city has the heart.
The Canadian dollar is worth more than the greenback and all that taxation does come with perks.

That does not follow because if I were to work part of the year in Canada I dont see myself marrying a Canadian girl. It might happen but more likely it would be someone I meet the rest of the year when I am back home.

I am trying to understand why Canada, a collective who loves hockey, cant field a decent team. I have also long been interested in the question of why Canada cant put together a decent MLB team. If the answer is taxes then this would be a major problem for those who argue that big government has the ability to raise the needed funds to support itself outside of ever increasing debt, the accumulation of which is coming to an end because the lenders are beginning to refuse to lend to governments.
