In the following sentences:
(1)The casino is there.
(2)The casino is where the bank used to be.
(3)The casino is where all the tourists go.
What is the grammatical function of "there" in (1)? Is it an adverb? Can an adverb function as subject complement following a linking verb?
In (2) and (3), what is the grammatical function of the clauses "where the bank used to be" and "where all the tourists go"? Could they be noun clauses meaning " the place where...."? Are they adverb clauses functioning as adverbials modifying the verb "be"? Can an adverbial modify an linking verb?

@JTT,

Occasionally posts go unnoticed. A shame, but there it is.

Good afternoon to you.
