I ate meat. How can I get my friends to move on?

@DrewDad,
I can't spell - but I tried Davids method of just sounding the word out as I am too lazy to look up the spelling.

Thank you! Exactly what I was thinking so what...if that is all they find fault with you talk about your shallow idiots.
So what - those are the type of people I'd love to eat a bloody rare thick steak in front of their faces.

Your friends should not care whether you are a meat eater or a veggie - it is a personal decision.
Yeah, it is, but u know,
from my experience over the years n decades,
when a new young lady friend informs me that she is a vegetarian,
I 've come to silently think that there 's trouble heading my way.

In my experience, vegetarian girls have been DISPROPORTIONATELY
grouchy, ill-tempered, demanding n impatient!

@DrewDad,

@OmSigDAVID,
My best friend is a vegeterian. She is none of what you described and I can't happily eat meat in front of her. She is not on a high horse about killing stuff and crap like that - she simply feels that the thought of eating an animal is disgusting - where it physically makes her feel sick at the thought of it. But she doesn't force her feelings on others.

There are some normal veggie people.

@OmSigDAVID,
No she wants a trophy. It also helps on the academic resume.

Maybe after she wins the national - she could provide a compeling speach on fonetic spelling.

@Lustig Andrei,
Sorry. When I typed that, didn't realize others had already commented on the spelling. Too late to edit or delete.

@Lustig Andrei,
e_brown once told me to bite his chalupa. I've been wondering about that ever since.

Wish he hadn't left us, by the way.

@32013,
Just be honest with them and tell them you like meat, most of my friends understand when I tell them. Cool

@32013,

So I'm just wondering, how do I get my friends to understand I'm still a vegetarian, because when I do, my friends say, "oh, you ate meat. you're not vegetarian anymore".

Why is it important to you that your friends label you a vegetarian? You eat what you eat, for whatever reasons you eat it. How is that your friends' business? How is it your problem if they can't move on?

@Thomas,
I wonder whether their friendship is BASED upon their vegetarianism ?

Like a club for that purpose ?

( I don 't mean to imply that the putative "friends" r acting rationally. )
