We were lucky, we only went 33 hours without power. We are, apparently, on the same grid as Toronto East GH, so our power came on when they got them up and running.

Oh good. I was worried. The weather has not been kind to our eastern neighbours. So many friends have been without power. I've got friends in NB still going without.
I hope you, Set and Beth, the hounds and hamburger too.. had a wonderful day.
I just got home and was so happy to see this post. I'm hoping for more good news as I start searching out the others.
Hope you have a warm night.
What a great voice. I'm normally not a fan of vibrato.. but she kinda messes with it, like a Johnny Cash thang.. Gonna have to search her out. Thanks Pan. Cheers

@Ceili,
Our main worry right now is that it has been snowing off and on, mostly on rather than off, since Monday afternoon. It's snowing steadily right now. That's just more weight for the power lines and the trees to carry.
When I went without power for 2 weeks post hurricane Wilma it was uncomfortable but not dangerous.
Do you have a wood stove as a heating adjunct?
A joeblow sighting makes this year complete.
Heading out to Palm Springs Cal. to spend Holidays with my sis.
First time it isn't Vancouver as her little budding attorney is doing the serious trip to Toronto to meet bf's parents.
There's still 50 thousand plus without in T.O alone. We're down to under a thousand. Damn I feel for 'em all. We managed just fine considering the circumstances- got a wood burning fireplace, but aint nobody still in their places at this point if there's no heat source. The bloody snow won't stop either but luckily so far no wind. I wonder how everybody will eventually deal with all the tree limbs etc. Be nice to see the chipper trucks come round, but I won't hold my breath just yet.

@panzade,
Two weeks would be a trial for sure. We lost it for about a week once before and it wasn't much fun after a day or two, though we quickly settled into a routine.
Those first two are just after Saturday's freezing rain that caused such havoc here. This last one is a view from my front door just a few minutes ago.
