Your car will already be stopped from the impact unless you are travelling at a very very high speed, in which case the vehicle's direction of travel will be changed from the impact - and you're going to have to stop/slow down significantly to get going the correct direction again.

If there are other cars/pedestrians/cyclists out there when you are in an accident of this nature, you've already created a great risk to them. Not stopping at the scene is not going to make it better.

You need to consider the physics of the situation.

The problem is his "wordage problem" often interferes with understanding his ideas.
I really don't think it's unreasonable to request he proof read his posts, given his evident problem, but he's ignored all such requests.
So, if BillRM doesn't care how his posts sound, or read, and he doesn't want to consider his readers, he's making himself a target for levity.

Also, no matter how thick the fog - once the body has come close enough to hit your windshield, you know what you've hit. You may not be able to give full identifying details but you'll know it's a human.

Driving at night, through fog, with a blood splattered windshield, after the body has rolled off the car, isn't exactly safe either--particularly if you are drunk. It is best to pull over and stop ASAP before you hit anything else.
Continuing to drive under such conditions, after you've already hit one person, might well be, "suicidal for you and a great risk to the lives of others".

@firefly,
No need to add blood-splattered. It's a detail we can't assume.

@firefly,
I contest that. I think it would be hard for him to do all that, and levity re mistakes is sort of cruel and a sidetrack, especially repeated. We all have different brain mechanics (my own word for the whole thing) and people without all the slick verbal connections get to talk too.
I do not mean he is simple, I mean he has a problem expressing his opinions in words. His are as apt to be true as others.

Agreed.

Although it's hard to imagine that, given the circumstances, that some blood would not have been left on the windshield. The cyclist was first hit by the car, then thrown against the windshield.

But, I agree, we don't know that for sure.

Why would it be hard for BillRM to proof read?

I never hit the Reply button without first proof reading my posts in Preview and using a Spell Check because my spelling is otherwise atrocious.

But, we are only communicating by text, so it's important that the text is comprehensible and expresses what we mean to say--if we want others to be able to focus on our opinions and ideas.

He's not careful when he cuts and pastes articles either--those posts are filled with extraneous garbage from the page the article was on that he just doesn't bother to edit out. Now that's not due to any problems he has expressing himself in text. He just doesn't bother to do it. He's lazy.

It would be one thing if he were a sweet old man. He's not, he's a particularly vile individual who views rapists and viewers of child pornography as victims. As such, he deserves a bit of cruelty, (if not a slap.)

I think his opinions come through quite clearly on a number of issues.

What I find puzzling is how variable his written communication can be in terms of its quality.

@firefly,
This was quite the elite post. Not everyone has synapses like yours.
You can, for example, spell atrocious, and sometimes those of us that can do that easily get arrogant.

You are not talking in your conference room here. I have trouble with Bill's views, and need a rest from them sometimes, thus his rest on ignore, but not because of his syntax.
Have you always lived in a tower?

Now, back to the thread - I'm still interested. I didn't get he was proven drunk when I posted earlier. Still not sure, but figure likely. Where he called from sounded very close, to me, our blocks in Venice were about 300 feet.
I surmise he was messed up but I don't know that.

@izzythepush,
Well, his views as a person who has trouble posting could be as true as others.

I separate that from my view of his views. Most of you know my views.

@ehBeth,
I agree his views come through, but then we get a lot of posts mocking him about frogs.

On the variability of communication, that is interesting. I didn't notice, since I've had him on ignore and presently only see quotes.

@izzythepush,
I separate language ability from viewpoints expressed.

I'm no fan, but the mocking of his language ability has gone on for years now.
If people insist in engaging, engage re his ideas.
Harrumph.

I know language and thought go together like bees and heather but people vary.
The sharpist sounding are not always the wisest.

Can't I do both? As WC Fields said, 'Never give a sucker an even break.' He's despicable, so no holds barred.
