@mikey,
Thought Id resurrect this thread and see what were all doing for Boxing Day. I will, of course give my yearly extortion tribute to my garbage service guys because they can make my life a living hell every Thursday when they come to unload the dumpster. Tribute assures the rendering of this service QUIETLY. WE also give cash to the Fire Company which is a volunteer service . WE had a chimney fore a few years ago and they responded like pros.

Of xcourse, none of these guys are actually staffers, but I try to cover the bases.

@farmerman,
I work in retail and volunteered to work today. If anyone had any lingering doubts about my lack of sanity this should clear things up.

@Tai Chi,
I had a day to myself, after a busy Christmas, and two busy days to follow.

Read, did some house things, went for a walk....

From the BBC
Quote:
A large piece of plastic ceiling panel fell on shoppers seeking out Boxing Day bargains at a Selfridges store in Manchester, injuring four people.
The 3ft (1m) square piece from the ceiling light fixture fell in the store in Manchester Exchange Square at about 0815 GMT, a shop spokesman said.

No shops open here today (some towns have an open Sunday tomorrow).
If there wasn't English Premier League football on the tv ...

It's the Feast of Stephen, so I went out.
For a jog.
The snow lay round about.
So I watched my step.

We'll put our boxing gloves on and go out shopping today - after a hearty
left over lunch. I dread it but the kid got cash for Christmas and is dying to
spread it.

@CalamityJane,
Loafed around the house most of the day - and then post surgical complication meant that I had to take the elderly aunt to the local hospital emergency department, waste 4 hours, and then try and find a pharmacy that was open at 8pm to fill her prescription.

@margo,
That doesn't sound strange, anymore. When I was a little boy in South Florida, all retail stores were closed on Sundays, except drug stores, and they had to cordon off all but the pharmacy. Now, everything is open every, except some drugstores, and they all have shorter hours than the stores that house them.
