Hi, I found these paintings in the attic of my house (house built in late 1800's).

Here is a list of the text found on each:

1. "Rustic Hospitality" Painted by W Collins R A, Engraved by J. Outrim, Engraved in London.

2. "The admonition" Chardin (Vienna, Liechenstien collection) ( print MC. 189)

3. I also found a free mason grand master print from 1897, engraved by Brothers Warrington London.

4. Unidentifiable. Extensive varnish damage, appears to be on a wood substrate.

5. Unidentifiable. Locked in frame. Seems to be on textured paper.

If anyone has any information or advice on how to get these appraised, I would love to hear from you. (or just general information regarding these pieces, as I love them)

regards,

Brian

@Brian Jeffcock,
Brian, I'm interested, just not the one to help.

My (maybe ignorant) instinct is to make a few phone calls to places like Sotheby and Christies - they have regional places. Or better, to research their sites first. Perhaps at quite some length.

One of our smart people on this has recently died, and another is in a kind of leave of absence. Another will likely see the thread.
