Let me add this one last perspective about people from around the world.
I have traveled to over 170 countries, and have been treated well by almost 100% of the people I have met. Most people want the same things everybody else wants; a good future for their children. There are more similarities than differences; most people like meeting people from other countries. That's the reason many on this planet learn more than one language; to be able to communicate with people outside their own culture.
When I visited Central Asia some years ago, in predominately Muslim countries, children would approach our tour group to talk with us. Not only to practice their English, but to meet people from other countries. They were adorable, and I still remember those experiences long past my visit there. I'm sure they have good memories of those contacts too.
It's how people are treated today that counts; many know that what our government does is beyond any individual citizen to influence.
