Links in IE8 do not open full size

I have used IE8 since day one without a problem.
Recently I had need to used the "stack windows horizontally" from the right-click on the task bar.
Now when I click on links in IE8, the new link opens to the size of that window.
I have searched the Internet and found many, many recommendations about opening a window in a new session, resize the window using the corners, close the previous window that is small and then close the newly sized window to make this right.
WRONG! Nothing works . . .
