Sorry about Missy. I lost my 12 year old Lab Retriever on 5 Jan. Not a good start to the New Year. Trying to keep busy. Reading First Word helps pass the time - why did posts end on 5 Jan?

Sorry bout your loss...mate... Posts were made till the 7th...But I am not sure why they stopped...Every thread goes idle at times...And most pick back up...

Thank you.. 12 years is also a very long time for a Lab Retriever and a life time for us as owners, our children. Missy was just past 17. She died in my arms on NYE, when I came come, I swore that when I woke, it was 2013 and that when that happened it was 2012.. A way of dealing I know it's hard for you, just the day after Christmas I also lost my little Jet, he was only 2, a rabbit that used a kitty litter tray and ran around totally free in the gardens.

If I can make a suggestion? Plant a garden, just for your baby... And, watch the plants grow into beauty and colour... It has helped me ...And, just remember, all those 12 years, the funny things, youth... We all get old and we all don't like feeling it, it's not the same... But we loved our owners and them us . If you don't read this, I will PM it to you.

I did not understand it...Because I am not here much...I do not mean it as being disrespectful to not give words of encouragement from the 5th on...

It is a very sad thing...But I get closure from saying my piece...I am sorry...I did not know you may have wanted some comfort...Sorry...I look at it, as if someone does not want to talk about it...I do not want to continue to talk to make them sad...Unless I know they would like too...Because death is tricky in different ways to many...

And the sign I had got was that you had closure...And if you wanted to talk about it more....I would listen....I try not to infringe on that sort of thinking of someone...Because even in believers it is a tricky subject...Even if I think I am right...I do not want to push that subject till I can see that someone is comfortable discussing it more....

There are a few things I do not use my spiritual gifts on....And one of them is death...

I am sorry...I did not know that you may have wanted to continue to talk about that type of morality...From my previous experiences....That is a very tricky issue...And I wait to see how I think people feel to keep talking about it or not...

Because even among believers....Some like to say what they say...And get closure that way....And some like to continue to talk about the life and experiences of the lost one....And find closure that way...But most times, I do not try to perceive how someone feels about that...And I usually wait to see what they say...In relation to how I think they feel...

I am replying to Vonny who accidentally replied to you. Missy is my dog. Obviously.

She/he asked about "why" the date, 5th, no replies since then. You state what you are in life, yet your answer was IDK. So I felt that you should have seen, a connection to her/ his question. This is the question of people who lose anything, a person, an animal and they look for a sign?

I answered him/her.

I am confused now...Simply because I am not here that much...What do you think that Vonny meant by making a post to me asking about the 5th? Do you think that he/she meant there post for you? Or were they asking me why I had stopped talking to you about your loss, and did not give you words of encouragement from the 5th till today?

And what did you mean by why did Spades not understand that being spiritual? If you did not want me to tell you a sign I can see...To validate I am spiritual?

I am confused, because I have not kept up with this thread...And I do not understand who meant what and why...and I did not clearly understand what everyone was saying...because of the possible mistake...by Vonny...And I did not read your posts of your signs...to be able to perceive why I think they happened....for myself...

I think I got it now...I agree with all of the signs...but was not fast on the uptake...Because again I was confused...I did not reply because I was not fully sure what Vonny was saying since his/her reply was made to me...But was talking about your loss...I had seen they were talking about your dog....But I thought he/she was directly asking me why I had not given words of encouragement or talked about your loss...and that is because I do not know how people respond to death....

I'm a she - and I'm a simple soul from the UK who loves dogs of all breeds, all ages, all sizes - and loved the Labrador I lost. My reply was meant for the owner of Missy. New to A2K, I answered the wrong post - sorry! Raw with grief from my recent loss, I empathised with the owner of the a much loved 17 year old dog. Didn't intend to be the cause of such a heated discussion - or is this the norm for First Word?!? Sorry to you, Found Soul, about little Jet too. And to you, SpadeMaster, for incorrectly answering your post and causing confusion.

Thank you, for the clarification...I am very sorry about your loss...It is never an easy thing to lose someone you love....But hang in there...And just remember all the great times you had and experienced with your pet... All all the love and joy they brought...to everyone...

My personal belief is that all animals are with their masters in Heaven one day...And are free to roam all over.... I think it is a great thing to think about at times of sorrow!!
