We love the simpsons around here, especially when Bart calls Moe at the bar and asks for those joke names.
Some of 'em really crack me up! Well, the other day my daughter mentioned Bart and his prank calls, and with however many hundred episodes there are, we could only think of one -
Bart: "Hello, I need to speak to Amanda, Amanda Hugandkiss"
Moe: "Sure, hold on. Hey! Is there a man 'da hug and kiss here? I'm lookin' for a man 'da hug and kiss!
Let's see how many we can get!
Jacques Strap, I.P. Freely, Bea O'Problem, Seymour Butz, Ivana Tinke, Oliver Clothesoff, Hugh Jass, Anita Bath, Eura Snotball.... I'll think of more
good one s monger. Ivana tinkle s my favourite
an old favorite of mine...
"Hi is Mike there? Last name, Rotch"
"Hold on... Mike Rotch! Mike Rotch! Hey, has anybody seen Mike Rotch lately?"
Thing is in US there is such an array of bowlderised English names from immigrant origin...almost any phrase or saying could be taken as a name.
Bart's prank calls
When Bart asked for Hugh Jass there was someone called Hugh Jass in Mo's Bar!
Candace Waite
Enzo What
Philip Mepockitz
Donatella Nobody
(These are all actually from NPR's "Click and Clack: the Tappet Brothers" and not the Simpsons.)
"I want to talk to Mr Coholic, first name Al".
"Is there an Al Coholic here?"
I once worked (briefly) for a not-to-be-named hotel chain, which has a free employee cafeteria, and rather a good one, in the basement. Everyone ate there, it was too good to pass up, and that included the General Manager and all of the management staff. The hotel employed a housekeeping staff member who was an adult moron (not meant in any nasty way, his mental age was about six), and he answered the phone one day in there, very excited to be able to do so. He called out for someone, who was not present, then hung up the phone. Less than a minute later, the phone rang again, and he called out: "Is Mike Hunt here? Mike Hunt?" The crowd tittered nervously, and many looked over at the GM, who was resolutely ignoring the incident. The calls continued to come in, until everyone there was roaring with laughter. The guy answering the phone was, of course, clueless, and delighted with all the attention. The GM eventually rose, and left, red-faced, never having commented. I don't know if they ever caught the perp.
