I hear that the Gutenberg Project has a selection of DRM free public domain audiobooks (mp3 files) but they seem to have uselessly changed their site a bit so you have to check out the site itself and see which ones they have.

And Boomerang is right that so public libraries do a selections of audiobooks online for lending and reading.
