Bike ride for charity

The Santa Speedo run in Gulfport today was fun. They raised over 30 grand for children living with HIV.

The weather was perfect yesterday. I remember the event last year not nearly as many runners. I think they raised about ten thousand last year, and thirty this year. We didn’t stay long; they ended the run at O’Malley’s, bar, restaurant and having Antonio with us we just congratulated the runners and went home.

The Santa Speedo run made the paper. I remember the one last year but I did realize it was their first. Second year and they raised 30 grand! not bad, I think I'll get involved in this event for next year as well.

Yes is really good idea for increase more funding for charity to these type of ride and lot's more option for increase funding for charity. Bike ride for charity is nice think.

This will be my third year and I’m starting early with getting sponsors for the next ride. So far I have four lined up to sponsor me.

I’m hitting up all the restaurants downtown. My graphic artist friend made up a little bio with photos from last years ride and later today I will be distributing them downtown.

Only 12 days to go and I take off on the ninth annual Smart Ride. I just checked the figures and so far the riders have raised over 600 thousand dollars! Most of mine will come in the last week before the ride.

I'll be volunteering again this year so I'll see you at the rest stops.
