@ossobuco,
It's a term of endearment, derived from chicken, pronounced chook. It's used a lot in Oz and oop North. My family is all from Yorkshire.

Yeah - but in Oz it has a different meaning to oop North. Here we eat it!

@izzythepush,
Oh, thanks. I was relating it to Chucky Cheese (a children's restaurant reference in the US), Charles of England, and also, nice memory, Chucky Andrus in my catholic grammar school class - many of us girls had hearts going pitter patter over him when we were all thirteen. Thus my confusion. (He was both smart and good at (u.s.) football, plus great looking in an interesting way.)

Now I understand why you are such a terrier..
I suppose that's not funny over there, but makes me smile.

@izzythepush,
Snort - I'm working that image..
but no. I've actually not known that many terriers personally.

I remember an airedale protecting a house on ocean front walk, venice, in the seventies, from the porch. (There were porches there then, before a lot of renovation syncopy.)

There were some leaping jack russells on our main street in my last home town.

There is Sally Dog, Diane and Dys', surely part terrier, loved by a2kers who have met her, including by Pacco dog, who, after an initial sequence of snarlphobics, just gave up and loved her.

So, my main thought re terriers, is insistence.

Ee Bah Gum a kindred spirit. When you have roast beef, do you have the Yorkshire puddings first as a seperate course, because my folks do?
