Doubtful, I think that he has no life, so coming around the internet forums to get abused is his only escape from loneliness...but fun it is not.

Let's go back in time to March 2011...

This is a great JG thread in which he is told about Kickstarter and I go back and forth with him and we both get nowhere.

@Butrflynet,
Thanks for the suggestion, but the twisted part in me is enjoying watching someone other than myself beat their head against the wall in a futile attempt to help a person who claims to need it, but really doesn't give a crap for your advice. It makes me feel less alone in the world. However, I will now butt out of your brave (if pointless) crusade.

There is a fine line between being a fighter for lost causes and a chump. I think Buterflynet has crossed it.

@Butrflynet,
Regardless of the outcome of your efforts to help JG10, you're doing the right thing. I, for one, as a creative artist (photog) benefit from such a referal. It's appalling to see someone calling you a chump for wanting to help JG10 or any reader with such a link. Clearly your efforts and demeanor are an asset to the community at large.

Declaring JG10 lazy or crazy helps no one here in the A2K community nor does it help him. Not only is he tone-deaf to criticism, he seems to enjoy the negative attention. So dumping on him more will only raises the general noise level. At least his participation is less frequent, at the moment.

After all, isn't the topic title 'For Goldman10'. Most people can find it pretty easy to ignore such a thread.

At the risk of displaying my own hypocrisy for my own past JG10 remarks, I certainly am no fan of his or his threads; however, anyone who's been here more than 10 mins or has read a single one of his threads understands there's some sort of a problem. Despite these overly discussed problems, there's nothing useful gained by repeating any sort of attacks.

What matters in reality is what benefit Butrflynet's link is to help creative people without the thread bogging down in petty attack.

Thus inviting the next round of toying with JGOLDMAN10, Butterfly could have sent a PM but chose not to (Unless his PM account has been closed, which is possible but I am not aware that it has been).

@hawkeye10,
Are you suggesting that the members of A2K are not mature enough to control their urges to toy with JGoldman10?

If so, I'm hoping to be able to disagree with you, at least as far as this thread topic goes.

@JGoldman10,
Here's where you get started. Create an account and they'll walk you through it.

http://www.kickstarter.com/start

Here are the requirements for starting a project on Kickstarter:

http://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq/creating%20a%20project#StarAProj

Quote:
Am I eligible to start a Kickstarter project?

To be eligible to start a Kickstarter project, you need to satisfy the requirements of Amazon Payments:

Be a permanent US resident and at least 18 years of age with a Social Security Number (or EIN), a US bank account, US address, US state-issued ID (driver’s license), and major US credit or debit card.

Projects must also follow the Kickstarter guidelines.

Is an Amazon Payments account required to launch a project?

It is. We'll send you to Amazon to set-up your account when you start your first project.

Is there an age requirement to start a project?

Project creators must be 18 years or older.

Where can I find tips on running a successful Kickstarter project?

Check out Kickstarter School to find inspiration, tips, tools, and best practices for making a successful project. Also, lots of creators have posted great post mortems. They're scattered all over the web and referenced throughout our blog, but for starters, check out these great ones:

@hawkeye10,
Why should she send a PM when other members here (such as myself) can easily benefit from the referral? There's no logic to that suggestion whatsoever. It almost sounds as though you're accusing her of something. Of what ... I have no idea.

Toying!

That's fairly idiotic to accuse because Butrfly can't help that others want to toy with him. She didn't and doesn't.

JG10, you have said that funding is the only thing standing in your way of your goal of getting your comics published.

No, I said lack of resources and research materials was what was I needed. I need resources and research materials and to help me get my stuff developed.

Money is a factor also.

@Green Witch,
Do you know WHY we went nowhere? You MISUNDERSTOOD me when I said VERY PLAINLY THAT I WAS NOT GOING TO LIMIT MYSELF TO ONLY USING KICKSTARTER. You thought I was undermining you and went berserk on me.

I want RESOURCES - I don't just limit myself to ONE. I GET AS MANY AS I CAN.

@JGoldman10,
What do you think about just starting with Kickstarter and adding your additional resources once you've gone through the whole proposal process on Kickstarter?
