I told a gay friend that people think I'm gay because I am always listening to Barbara Streisand. His answer was a classic: "Babs? I never would have guessed you were a Babs fan! The only thing more gay would be to admit that you are a Liza fan."
Well, I guess I'm outta the closet. I love both Babs and Liza. How is it I never realized until just this moment that I must be queer?
(Btw, love San Francisco as well.)
San Francisco is a beautiful place. My fondest memories are of simply walking around and riding buses to see as much of it as possible. (By the time I got there, Haight Ashbury was a bleak little spot, with not a soul around).

My Lord, what a homophobic question.
Of course San Francisco is for Queers just as is Boulder, Key West, and Atlanta are.
The hate that is posted in this forum is just incredible.
I suggest, Finn, that you become more attuned to the nuances of satire and irony. This thread is an obvious tongue-in-cheek response to another, straightforward homophobic thread which asked the same question about the USofA. If I felt more kindly disposed toward you, I'd look it up and get you a link. But I believe you're capable of doing that your own self.

Well that's not going to happen, I've still not been able to explain what a pun is to dear old Finnbar. Satire and irony are distant pipe dreams. Nuances do not exist when you think in black and white.

I can’t believe nobody mentioned poor Judy. Every true homo young and old loves Judy Garland.
I believe the demographics have changed quite a bit. Gays don’t flock to San Francisco like they once did. We are everywhere now.
