Mazda 323 engine swap

Wait..please clarify. Are you planning on doing it yourself? If you are, are you experienced mechanically and what have you done for DIY car repair projects? Do you have a lift or a hoist, etc?

If you aren't going to do it yourself, what does your mechanic say about the rest of the condition of your car (transmission, drive-train, suspension, wiring/wiring harness, body and undercarriage rust)? A 27-yr-old car may not be a vehicle into which it's worth such an investment of that sort of money (~$2000 USD). For a little more, you can buy a servicable used car for $3500 USD.

changing to a different size/type motor (and adding a turbo) will require changing to a different computer.

I am just finishing up replacing the motor in a 1987 Nissan pick-up.

with the same (rebuilt) motor. and putting the a/c back into working order.

the customer has about $4000 in it now, predominately parts...

Mazda parts are more expensive yet.
