How do you make inter-special relationships work in a cartoon/comic?

@JGoldman10,
Seriously. There might be a twelve step program that you can sign up for to help curb this animal fetish you seem to have. Maybe the church leadership can help.

@Questioner,
I AM NOT A FURRY.

DO YOU THINK THE PEOPLE WHO MADE TV AND HOLLYWOOD CARTOONS WERE FURRIES?

@Ben Smith,
Riff and Cleo were BF and GF - they didn't have sex. They weren't going to show that or hint at them having sex in a KIDS' CARTOON.

I don't think kissing is appropriate. Characters shouldn't be kissing each other if they aren't married.

Holding hands is a form of intimacy.

I have cats and dogs representing different races and cultures.

The cats-dating-dogs or dogs-dating-cats could play out like a taboo thing, like a Romeo-and-Juliet type of thing.

The cats and dogs are on par with each other, get along with each other and are friends with each other.

The cats-dating-dogs or dogs-dating-cats could play out like a taboo thing because of the obvious PHYSICAL complications behind it.

@Questioner,
People like the A-TEAM, or INDIANA JONES, or LARA CROFT, or MAGNUM P.I., or WALKER, TEXAS RANGER were ACTION HEROES.

I don't think Shakespeare wrote any roles for them. Or are they Capulets?
