Found dead. I never listened to her. Don't know anything about her.

Just read an interview with her dad where he said she was doing so much better.

@sozobe,
It's a shame, she was a very talented musician. Can't say I'm suprised though, she did like ingesting illegal substances quite a lot.

@edgarblythe,
Well I guess if this is true then it's another self destructed celebrity who died too young. Sad

@izzythepush,
I believe the legal substance alcohol did most of the damage, perhaps if she just smoked the odd joint she'd still be alive.

@Ben Smith,
She didn't just smoke the odd joint. I take your point about alcohol, but she was into cocaine and heroin big time.

@edgarblythe,
Oh edgar! I'm so surprised that you didn't listen to her. She was a torch singer of the first order. I thought she was amazing.

Such a shame.

@boomerang,
I might have listened to her, but she just never came up in my insulated world.

it is sad that she had such a talent, and did not find joy in it enough to make the choice to stop taking drugs. What ever it was that drove her was obviously strong, it just drove her into death instead of creativity..

27 is just too young to die. If the universe has any justice she's somewhere planning a duet with Janis Joplin.

It is so, so sad. Amy had such a great voice and great talent!
Her last concert in Serbia was a terrible precursor - she hardly could sing or stand alone for that matter. What a shame!

She was an insanely talented but likewise troubled soul who just couldn't deal with the publicity, scrutiny nor the success. go to Youtube and listen to her music. Every time I listen to her it's hard to believe she is/was of this time era. Her voice has one of the most unique qualities and the music is a mix of several decades. She was a stylistic genius and a sponge for music stylings of the past and present.

However, her personal life sadly was a disaster.

I love her work, but "you know I'm no good" sums her up. Her death was expected by those who knew her.

I dont think that is it, I think it boils down to she could not make herself happy and she did not give a **** about either staying alive or doing what other people wanted her to do. It was a lethal combination that had nothing to do with her art her art or her popularity. No talent and no popularity would have gotten her to this same spot.

@hamilton,
Don't worry about Hawk, he probably thinks that the urchin who was sweeping her chimney, slipped, fell through the fireplace and bopped her on the noggin. The reason it wasn't called in at the time was because no-one could see her through the thick fog. At least we'll get some answers now that Sherlock Holmes is on the case.

@hawkeye10,
Tomato tomahto: your theory is as good as any other theory. I still stand by my statement. Amy Winehouse is STILL dead. (As Chevy Chase used to recite"on SNL, "Generalissimo Franco is still DEAD!"
