@FBM,
wow, come to think of it, you're right!

How about a name that can be either for a man or woman?

I like the name Robin.

@alps56,
Regardless of what it used to mean, today it means 'idiot'.

Wow Miss Short Fuse, chill out. Shocked

They were this close to naming me Josephine or Lois. Then I really would have had to killed them.

It did seem to be an afterthought though, none of the other 4 kids had names that slurred together.

I couldn't even use my middle initial to break it up, since my middle name is Sophie.

Christ almighty, why did they hate me so?

@chai2,
no offence but when "s" meets "m", it seems not good.

the letter "b" is in there.

makes it sound like you're burping.
same with Pedro, sounds like someone got angry in the middle of the name.

Paul and Paolo (if not said with a yankee accent) is smooth and silky.

@chai2,
Sophie!!! Ah... i love that name, but not right after your first name and before your last (which I don't know yet) - but talk about alliteration. Had they just read the "she sold seashells on the seashore" tongue-twister and were intrigued so tried to emulate it? Or are they secretly Polish?

@chai2,
Okay, what about Pierre, then? Soft, silky, drifty...

Oh....it was no secret.

I think I was conceived in a bowling alley, between sets.

@chai2,
I think they're called frames, but then, that'd be a real quickie.

Jacques IS good, I agree... Jacques Cousteau - oh! There are 2 K sounds in a row there! Maybe not so good. On the other hand, it doesn't get out of control of your mouth like your name does Smile

Pablo Escobar.

Actually, I myself am fond of the name Pablo (and burping, I can do that automatically, it's great party entertainment).

What's with all the french and spanish names? I'm sure the poster requested "proper english" names.

An English name that actually sounds like the Chinese name has benefits. You are more likely to react when someone calls you by your English name if it sounds like the name you grew up with.

Alps is definitely the name of a mountain range, not a personal name. Randolph, nickname Randy, is fairly close to your Chinese name. We're sort of assuming you're male, and suggesting mostly male names. Is that correct?
