I'm only struck by how stupid people are to be star struck.

@Lustig Andrei,
Snort...

this petunia who has gotten to be famous and now lives in my old neighborhood (the one with all the broken windows, et cetera) all fancied up.

But to answer, a dandelion blossom in the wind. I say that meaning it kindly.

Thing is, a lot of these ppeople become celebrities simply because the news media do stories about them. Lindsey Lohan is a no-talent non-entity who would be long forgotten if it were not for the fact the media think it's big news that she's also an alcoholic drug addict who doesn't seem to have much respect for the US judicial system. So they keep her in the limelight with endless stories of her woes for purely mercenary reasons. Much the same is true of every name that's been mentioned so far. I sometimes suspect that some of these "stars" fake their addictions and get busted on purpose just to get their names up there on Twitter and FaceBook and the daily news reports, printed or electronic.

@Foofie,
I don't particularly envy any of them because I create my own happiness.

It's because they find their own lives so shallow and unfulfilling, and technology now allows them to immerse themselves in the lives they want to steal.

It's far more of a blight on humanity than climate change.
