So the hot Puerto Rican boy I’ve been dating for four weeks now made dinner for me tonight. Soft tacos and red beans with rice. So not only is he hot and cute he can cook too! And he’s not bad in the kitchen either. This one might be a keeper.

@ossobuco,
Thanks! Oh Italian! my fav! I come from an Italian family, I still remember my grandmother cooking her Sunday sauce, and I've never had any that even came close to hers!

@jcboy,
She of course didn't use a recipe, eh? Did anyone observe what she did?

Did you ever see the movie Big Night? I, mad italophile, highly recommend it.

@ossobuco,
My mother had her sauce recipe but it wasn’t as good as my grandmothers. I remember my grandmother making bricole, I only found one restraurant that had bricole on the menue but you had to ask for it two days ahead of time and it wasn’t even close to my grandmothers.

@jcboy,
I finally figured it out, you're talking about braciola, bricole in dialect, or are you?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braciola

Looking through my shelves, I've 5 recipes in one book and haven't hit some of the other likely ones. What region is your family from?

@jcboy,
That's what I'm finding, Sicily seems the place for it.

Well, I'll stop, my pasta water is boiling.
