“I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high-class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers.
In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism.
I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914.
I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in.
I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street.
I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902-1912.
I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916.
I helped make Honduras right for the American fruit companies in 1903.
In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went on its way unmolested.
Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents.
War is a racket. It always has been. A few profit and the many pay. But there is a way to stop it. You can't end it by disarmament conferences.
It can be smashed effectively only by taking the profit out of war.” -Smedley D. Butler

Susan B. Anthony was an anti-abortion white supremacist who said she'd cut off her own arm before letting black people vote.
The quote is a deliberate misreading of the Wikipedia biography. From my reading, Anthony was 100% fighting for black rights.
"The two men tried to convince the two women that the time had not yet come for women's suffrage, that they should campaign not for voting rights for both women and African Americans in the revised state constitution but for voting rights for black men only. According to Ida Husted Harper, Anthony's authorized biographer, Anthony "was highly indignant and declared that she would sooner cut off her right hand than ask the ballot for the black man and not for woman.""
The real damage is done by those millions who want to ‘survive.’ The honest men who just want to be left in peace. Those who don’t want their little lives disturbed by anything bigger than themselves. Those with no sides and no causes. Those who won’t take measure of their own strength, for fear of antagonizing their own weakness. Those who don’t like to make waves—or enemies. Those for whom freedom, honour, truth, and principles are only literature. Those who live small, mate small, die small. It’s the reductionist approach to life: if you keep it small, you’ll keep it under control. If you don’t make any noise, the bogeyman won’t find you. But it’s all an illusion, because they die too, those people who roll up their spirits into tiny little balls so as to be safe. Safe?! From what? Life is always on the edge of death; narrow streets lead to the same place as wide avenues, and a little candle burns itself out just like a flaming torch does. I choose my own way to burn. ~Sophie Scholl

Mr Trump is Russia's preferred candidate, 100%, unambiguously. They talk about it all the time, and it's for a very simple reason, they think they can win the war with Trump. I think Trump is their only chance of winning the war.

The late Muhammad Ali, world boxing legend, gave this answer in an interview, when he was under pressure to go and fight in Vietnam, or else be imprisoned, which actually happened.
“I'm not going to duck. I'm not burning any flags. I'm not going to run to Canada. I'm staying right here.
You want to send me to jail? Fine, go ahead. I've been in jail for 400 years. I could be there for 4 or 5 more, but I'm not going to go 10,000 miles to help murder and kill other poor people. If I want to die, I'll die right here, right now, fighting you, if I want to die. You're my enemy, not any Chinese, not any Vietcong, not any Japanese. You're my opponent when I want freedom. You're my opponent when I want justice. You're my opponent when I want equality.
You want me to go somewhere and fight for you? You won't even defend me right here in America, neither my rights nor my religious beliefs. You won't even defend me here at home."

Has anyone lived long enough to buy a second bottle of Worcestershire?
@edgarblythe,
I go through a bottle every 3 months or so.
It's an essential ingredient for corn beef hash and cottage pie as well as being good on top of some cheese recipes.
@izzythepush,
I honestly don't recall ever tasting it.
@edgarblythe,
It's not really part of American cuisine.
It's got a very strong savoury taste, I have a cousin who uses it like ketchup, but most people use it as a cooking ingredient.
It ges very well with beef, lamb and pork.

I love it on scrambled or fried eggs. It's one of the few sauces that nutritionists say you can have as much as you like.
Loads of good ingredients. I don't go camping without it.
There's a recipe called steak Dianne, where you combine this sauce with cream, to flavour steaks. Very yummy.
