@coluber2001,
If imagination did not exist, we would be living in a much different world.

"The war we are fighting until victory or the bitter end is in its deepest sense a war between Christ and Marx. Christ: the principle of love. Marx: the principle of hate."

Joseph Goebbels--Third Reich propaganda minister

If you insert the word "cold" in front of "war", it sounds like the philosophy of the U. S. during much of the last half of the twentieth century. And the "bitter end" of nuclear holocaust was only accidentally avoided.

He was an effective propaganda minister. Knowing that the Nazis were abject Commie haters, one must conclude that he placed the Nazis on the side of Christ and love. We also know that Hitler was a devout Christian.

But given hindsight of decades, we all know that the principles of Nazis definitely DO NOT mesh with "the principle of love."

@tsarstepan,
That's what is so fearful about religion. It ended up killing six million Jews.

@tsarstepan,
The point is that everyone who identities with "good" opposes evil." How zealous you are with that identity determines how you destructive you are.

I was in grade school when the words "under God" were inserted in the Pledge of allegiance. We were the "Godly" and they--the Russians--were the "Godless." That was justification enought to
destroy them, in some minds.

The Russians lost twice as many civilians as the Jews, and they were all slated for extermination, every last one.

I assume he's referring to human life. Otherwise, it's just anthropocentric.
