“That's the whole point of good propaganda. You want to create a slogan that nobody's going to be against, and everybody's going to be for. Nobody knows what it means, because it doesn't mean anything.”

@edgarblythe,
That's the "support the troops" bullshit memes. If folks let the troops know that they are taking part in war crimes, in terrorist acts against innocent countries and people, the shitheads occupying the Black House would have no hired help.

“At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done.
We will be judged by "I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in.”

@blueveinedthrobber,
Is this a joke, Bear, or did Barton really say that?

@edgarblythe,
That'll never be me!
Returned from my Rhine & Mosel cruise (15-days), and will be leaving Sunday for a cruise on the Danube (10 days) with a chance to revisit Vienna.

Saw Walter and Ulla while we were in Bonn. I invited my roommate, Alan, who's a retired college professor. It was a good get together as usual, with Walter showing us Bonn and the outskirts with a nice restaurant by the river for lunch.

No time to work on my travel blog until I return from my next trip.

I gave myself permission to feel and experience all of my emotions. In order to do that, I had to stop being afraid to feel. In order to do that, I taught myself to believe that no matter what I felt or what happened when I felt it, I would be okay.

I believe it was George Carlin, and I paraphrase, who said that individuals are smart but nothing is as stupid as people in groups. I concur.
