CHILD DEFENDED

A criminal attempted to break into a house in Mountain Home, Ark.
by throwing a concrete block through the window of a door that led
into the bedroom of the homeowner's four-year-old daughter.

The homeowner became aware of the intrusion, retrieved a .22-caliber revolver
and shot the criminal in the head and abdomen, ending the home invasion.
The intruder was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

The Baxter County Sheriff's Office and 14th Judicial District Prosecutor
Ron Kincade have noted that they will not pursue charges against the home owner.

@OmSigDAVID,

I consider that to be irresponsible.
It shoud have been at least a .38 revolver.

@OmSigDAVID,
Well that's awful.

How do we know the man wasn't throwing that concrete block at something else, and it accidently went through the window?

I think this has set back the reputation of concrete block throwers around the world.

@chai2,
Maybe there was a spider on the window that looked like it was threatening the kid. We may never know.

@roger,
How do you know its look was threatening?
It might have been cultural.

@chai2,
Yeah, it might have been. It's a matter of perception. Still, you don't have to be acting in self defense or defense of another. You do have to reasonably believe that spider was planning to attack.

THAT must be the reason that he selected the .22: for the spider!

He probably had ulterior motives.
