And what makes this electricity different to electricity from wind turbines that it can be stored?

It can't be stored in the quantities required (at this stage) so most baseload power generators run at overload all the time. It's a bit of a balancing act.

Tesla has come up with the "wall of power" for individual home power storage solutions. At three grand initial cost, with a ten year guarantee, it's a feasible solution to escalating power costs for grid delivery.
