For the last few days, when I power up my desktop computer, the screen stays dark. I am finally able to get it on by powering down (by holding the power up button in) to turn the PC off, then turning the Verizon FiOS "box" off, then turning it back on a minute later -- and repeating that cycle several times.
What causes the problem? What is the solution?

Not sure about the problem. My solution is I never power down my desktop.
