I think it was done in response to DC being owned by Warner Bros.
It might be good for Marvel if Disney is planning to help Marvel make comic book movies.
The acquisition still takes some getting used to. I think it was inevitable since Marvel helped to published some Disney-based comics.
I don't really care about it, as long as they DON't do some weird Disney/Marvel Universe mash-ups or crossovers.

DC superheroes and Looney Tunes work together well.
Disney characters and MARVEL superheroes would clash.
