@msolga,
Tai, I said I'd return when I found just the right gift for you and I am a woman of my word.
So here I am again & here it is!
The perfect gift for an intrepid pioneer woman such as yourself: your very own Annie Oakley outfit!
Isn't it great!? Smile
You'll be pleased to hear that the manufacturer provides alteration & adjustment services as part of the package .... like shortening sleeve lengths & taking up hems for little people.

Anyway, I hope you like it.
Happy belated birthday!

As I remember, Annie Oakley said that she began shooting
at the age of 8, when her mother put a rifle into her hands,
and commanded her to go and not to come back without lunch.

She said that her family liked to eat regularly,
so this process was repeated cyclically.

In time, shooting the local fauna became boringly ez,
so she began training herself in trick shooting during her foraging.

James (Wild Bill) Hickok told nearly the exact same account
from his age 9, elsewhere on the American prairie.

Practice makes perfect.

@OmSigDAVID,
Im sorry to add my greetings so late in the celebration process. I am curious to learn about Tai Chis "road to pioneering". Where does she pioneer?

@msolga,
msolga, it's perfect -- especially the alteration part -- I hate hemming! (The gun looks a little long for me to handle though.) Thanks!

Handguns are more compact and convenient, Tai Chi:

@OmSigDAVID,
I suspect I'm more of a Henry "youth" .22 kind of gal, David:

@Tai Chi,
O, that 's VERY traditional!
Henry was one of the original American gun manufacturers
and .22s are TONS OF FUN!

I bet it is very accurate!

I can 't see it very clearly; is that lever action ?

@OmSigDAVID,
Yep. If I get one for target shooting it will have to be youth-sized to be comfortable for me.

@Tai Chi,
Oh didn't I tell you, Tai?
The gun wasn't actually a part of the gift ... it was more of a prop, for historical authenticity all that that!
But the outfit itself, I think is absolutely charming.

David, please would you stop posting about guns.
This is Tai's birthday thread.
Let's keep it that way, OK?

Olga, I 've seen that picture many times, long b4 now
and I am confident that it was fully functional
and I know that Annie Oakley 'd have no trouble
in putting a round from it thru your wedding ring
if u threw it UP hi in the air, with NO damage to the ring.

She can get cyber-guns for her BIRTHDAY PRESENTS.

(Tai Chi rightly CELEBRATES the .22 Henry lever action rifle.)

Do u DISagree with that, Olga ????

@OmSigDAVID,
Nope.
I was just hoping this didn't change from a birthday thread into a gun thread, David.
That's all.
