Could indeed the ultimate nature of reality be resumed to code ?
What are your perspectives upon this matter ? share your insights with us and give us your two cents of wisdom.

@Fil Albuquerque,
In the posted video which clearly is manipulated towards religious purposes the final step of assuming a creator behind the code seams unnecessary...
Case to wonder why this supposed God would not itself be also yet another layer of code, yet another simulation ? How would we distinguish a "real" God from its virtual counterpart ? The question remains untouched...Could CODE and PATTERN assembly be the only reality there is ? an abstract mathematical relation of algorithms...

@Fil Albuquerque,
...and from the "heavens" back to a more down to earth approach on the subject without pineal glands magic and all seeing eyes in the mix... Laughing

Hogan’s holometer: Testing the hypothesis of a holographic universe

In 2008, Fermilab particle astrophysicist Craig Hogan made waves with a mind-boggling proposition: The 3D universe in which we appear to live is no more than a hologram.

Now he is building the most precise clock of all time to directly measure whether our reality is an illusion.

The idea that spacetime may not be entirely smooth – like a digital image that becomes increasingly pixelated as you zoom in – had been previously proposed by Stephen Hawking and others. Possible evidence for this model appeared last year in the unaccountable “noise” plaguing the GEO600 experiment in Germany, which searches for gravitational waves from black holes. To Hogan, the jitteriness suggested that the experiment had stumbled upon the lower limit of the spacetime pixels’ resolution.

Black hole physics, in which space and time become compressed, provides a basis for math showing that the third dimension may not exist at all. In this two-dimensional cartoon of a universe, what we perceive as a third dimension would actually be a projection of time intertwined with depth. If this is true, the illusion can only be maintained until equipment becomes sensitive enough to find its limits.

“You can’t perceive it because nothing ever travels faster than light,” says Hogan. “This holographic view is how the universe would look if you sat on a photon.”

Not everyone agrees with this idea. Its foundation is formed with math rather than hard data, as is common in theoretical physics. And although a holographic universe would answer many questions about black hole physics and other paradoxes, it clashes with classical geometry, which demands a universe of smooth, continuous paths in space and time.

“So we want to build a machine which will be the most sensitive measurement ever made of spacetime itself,” says Hogan. “That’s the holometer.”

@Fil Albuquerque,
You know my take on this, I think. Unified field theory meets vedic ideas of consciousness, to sum it up briefly.

In that context, I guess we could use the word "code" to mean the various sub atomic activity. But this "code" is writing itself.

The word more commonly used is "illusion". And indeed it is. This particular illusion is the perception of a three dimensional, physical reality, internally negotiated by all it's parts, while the illusion itself is taking place somewhere between our brain and our mind. But on a level of existence where the two are inseparable.

@Fil Albuquerque,
I think the pacing on the video is glacial... is it meant to be viewed by stoned philosophy students?

No consumer of science fiction made in the last 45 years could have missed this idea. The Matrix, The Thirteenth Floor, We Can Remember It for You Wholesale (adapted for the screen as Total Recall), Ubik, Vanilla Sky, Inception, etc.

@DrewDad,
Yes the video is definitely a mix of propaganda and sound byte trash, but behind it and its intents the general original idea is pretty much alive... Smile

@Fil Albuquerque,
And it all comes down to solipsistic nonsense.

...we all fall for that more often then we like to think...just as long we acknowledge it no long term harm comes out of it !... Wink

@Fil Albuquerque,
This is probably the prime example of Occam's Razor.
Yes, this hypothesis (the correct spelling) is plausible, but since it makes so many new assumptions, its far less likely than what most people believe. Anyway, why bother making such a theory? In no way does it help humans advance scientifically, technologically, or spiritually, all it does is make people question their own physical existence, something that can only lead to depression.
