It's been show in Oz lately - and it has been brilliant. It's so much like a David Attenborough doco, but with people instead of animals. Some of the stuff is a little pat in it's construction (it has to be by definition ie the father and kids trek down an ice river to school - like the camera crew had to crawl along that ice ridge too?) But the photography/filmography and sheer wonder of it all is a thing to behold.

Highly recommended - thinking about buying the DVDs!

thank you for replying - remarkable stories and photography was just brilliant.

There is another documentary called The Human Body which started here a couple weeks ago - not quite the same photographically, but fascinating to watch the imagery and real-life video.

Here's some wonderful varied slow mo's too. I'm attempting timelapse right now but struggling with postprocessing - I'll figure it one day

however, I would also thoroughly recommend these vimeos... I am in awe of the photography - I'm also going to be doing star trails (not in quite so incredible locations (ie - my back garden) - but heh, we all start somewhere.
