Gus, or the winged variety?

Good-looking as well, Gautam - and 2 of them in London!
Here's a cute duck for today, a hooded merganser displaying:
((shudders))
That creature's head would make a nice tennis ball, though.

It's what we call "every Preston guild"
Ahem, now Clary, about those phone numbers.....
Sorry, I missed the documentary last night even though I was planning to watch it.
Just to wrap up the depression digression on this thread so we can return to Duck of the Day (sour cherry or kumquat sauce is a delicious variation on the usual orange)
my 'story' was first told on a thread called 'Suicide, should it be legal?' which is presumably still accessible. I joined A2K because I wanted to think about this issue AND play word games, so googled for something like philosophy, suicide, word game - and got here just like that!
Now, crispy Peking duck...
and, Clary, I did look at the word 'story', thinking how not-right, and decided it would do...
so, listen, do you ever cook duck?
I have no objection to your using the word story, it is one, has become one - for me I suppose it's a little bizarre because it is just one time, one aspect of my life frozen in history. I used speech marks so as to show my own embarrassment at using an important literary word for a slice of life!
Well, I have roasted duck, but in Hong Kong we used to enjoy a sort of barbecued duck, succulent and tender but not greasy... never replicated in England I fear.
Clary, I might be going to Hong Kong soon. Any tips ?
It's all wonderful! Amazing!! Stunning!!! It isn't calm, British, understated.
Go to the south of HK Island - Repulse Bay and Stanley. If you have time go to the far eastern New Territories, the Sai Kung peninsula - if poss on a company junk (I'm sure you're going for business, and those big companies do you proud). The big Buddha is - well, big. The night markets and general bustle and lights - I don't think you'll need tips to enjoy the night life, it's all right there. Be interested to know what you think of it.
And if you want to eat duck (or goose as they tend to say, though it rarely is) - a village specialising in it is called Sham Tseng, in the western New Territories.
Thanks !! know any good looking single guyz to date ?
<just joking>
My biggest worry is food - since I am a veggie...
Evesdropping on clary and gautam...
didja know, Clary, that in the last best days of abuzz we had a travel thread, and I noodled gautam to give us a tour of india? I might or might not have saved those on a disc.
Whatever - it was a good tour at the time, for us watching.
Perhaps we can hire him to take us IN PERSON? It's good to travel with a native. They speak the lingo.

Plenty of good looking guys esp if you like the Oriental style... and bars, clubs...
You can find every kind of food. Plenty of veggie Indians and such. Chinese banquets are a bit of a problem but they are used to funny foreigners picking at their bowls of unnamed innards with distaste! There are always actual veggie dishes in a banquet, but perhaps only 2 out of 14. Good for the waistline!

I am an equal oppurtunity dater
Good to know abt the veggie food - I don't like oriental food so the first thing I will have to do is to hunt for "non oriental" food joints....

Good idea !! And a good chance to make some extra money
Now you just have to give us a date - since you seem unable even to keep single days free for A2K meets in London... unlikely to happen.
What became of the DUCKS?
I went out with my kinswoman in Hong Kong the week before last and met two gay men, colleagues of hers. She and her friend Amanda were telling me that they were the only two women in a party of twelve recently and all the men were gay! That's good odds, Gautam.
I'm going back there later for the crispy duck.
Crispy duck hiding in vegetable garden.
sorry, german google seems to have a problem with this
