I see lots of ducks on the various golf courses I play -- and they indeed are peaceful to look at.

I find watching any sort of animal pretty relaxing - I often sit and watch my sheep graze - they have no understanding of worry at all - all that matters is the next blade of grass.

There are ducks in little ponds scattered around my community. Sometimes, when I am taking a walk, I will stop to watch the ducks frolic. In the winter, we get a lot of quacker "snowbirds", as well as the human ones that inundate my area!
Thanks Gus- Great pic!

Thanks for sharing, Eve. And thanks for adding that beautiful, peaceful image of the duck.
I think we're all forming a special bond here. A sort of Duck Club. Ahhhhhhh.... so nice.
Feel the love.

About ten years ago migrating ducks and geese chose a pond in the middle of the campus of the university I teach at as a stop over point each fall. We did not have one or two ducks, or even a dozen ducks, we had thousands, possibly tens of thousands of ducks. It was a mess and the University had to go to some expense to get rid of them. Since then I have look at ducks with a very jaundice eye.

Oh sure, Acquiunk, spoil the party. We're all sitting here, peaceful like, and you come charging in with a chainsaw roaring and disrupt the whole damn process.

Acquiunk- We had the same thing with Canada geese who settled on Long Island, and refused to budge, even though they were supposed to be migratory. You really had to step very very gingerly around the little lake in the park!

We could send all those ducks to Iraq, then maybe they would feel peaceful too.

Awwww!!!! I love ducks. Every year when we have our spring snow thaw there are small ponds and large puddles that form out back and there are about 5 ducks who come to visit for a month or so until it dries up. I do miss them when they go.

Walter, not in this case, it is illegal to hunt or trap on a campus or in a park.

Actually, I really miss especially that question - I even knew the timetable/schedule/tariffs by heart after the 18th question!
