Who put that thing on my thread!!!
I hate the look of muscle men!
Gustav, what an interesting collection of photographs you seem to have.
(Just writing this to get the picture of the big shiny man off my screen....you never know who might walk past. Scroll, baby, scroll)
Oh - it isn't my damned thread! Sorry.....got confused....it's early...
Ahem...Getting back to the duck theme, here's my totem animal, the symbol of my erstwhile stomping grounds:
I don't think that duck is real! You have been scammed - your totem is a travesty!

D'art, my totem animal eats your totem animal and the intervening
animal to our posts.

Oh, my gosh, you may be right! Good thing I left that place...
Yes but that is a key building in architectural history, what Robert Venturi calls a Duck, that is, a decorated shed. (Trust me on this.) Back with a link if I can snag one.
Aha, here's one -

This thread has strayed a long way in just a few short posts, nicht wahr, from nature study and photography, to environmental considerations of migrating species, trapping, shooting and cooking wildfowl, mediaeval literature allusion in English epic poetry, silly jokes, linguistics, sexual preference, ethnic culture, niche photo, sport, totemic symbolism and novelty architecture. And that's without looking, I may have missed something important out. And navel-gazing.
All on a very serious thread folks. Come on, get with the program..................
Yeah, really.
Let's see here....We had some snow last night, and it's still coming down a wee bit. Quite nice it is, with the flakes falling past the fir trees.
All the ducks have flown south.
No flakes up here, just tiny ice crystals and heavy frosts for the last few days. New years will glow like a diamond.
". . . glow like a diamond . . ."
Nice turn of phrase there, Boss . . .
ummm, I never know if that's a good thing or not.
If its on your neck, it is extra special

what a remarkable photo. Mr Cox is spectacularly gifted.
And what a lovely pair.
I hope the subject matter is not pertinent , Clary.
