It looks good for pure gun freedom (the status quo ante)
to be restored soon in the State of New Hampshire.

It will be interesting to see what effect
repeal of the gun control laws has upon the FBI's annual crime statistic for Wyoming.

Governor Matt Mead (R) recently signed into law two important
self-defense reform bills. Yesterday, March 3, Governor Matt Mead
signed Senate File 47, often referred to as “Licenseless Carry” legislation.
SF 47 was passed by an overwhelming majority in the state Senate
and the House. Then today, the Governor signed House Bill 167,
“Castle Doctrine” legislation which will strengthen your right to self-
defense in your home. Both bills will go into effect on July 1, 2011.

Sponsored by state Senator Kit Jennings (R-28) of Casper, SF 47 is an
important update to lawful carry in Wyoming. It will allow a
Wyoming resident to legally carry a concealed firearm without the
burdensome requirement of acquiring a Wyoming concealed carry license.
This legislation will not change the current licensing system, which
will still be required for non-residents and those who wish to participate
in reciprocal concealed carry license agreements when traveling
outside of the state.

In Wyoming, it is generally legal to carry a firearm openly as long as
one is not prohibited from possessing a firearm. However, if the
firearm becomes covered with a coat, or if a woman prefers to carry
a firearm in her purse, one would need to possess a concealed carry
license. This legislation simply gives people the greatest possible
freedom to choose the best method of carry for them, based on attire,
gender, and/or physical attributes.

House Bill 167 will now establish, in law, the presumption that a
criminal who forcibly enters or intrudes into your home or occupied
vehicle is there to cause death or great bodily harm, so the
occupant may use force, including deadly force, in self-defense.
It will also provide that persons using force authorized by law shall not
be prosecuted for using such force and prohibits criminals and their
families from suing victims for injuring or killing the criminals who
have attacked them. In short, it gives rights back to law-abiding
people and forces judges and prosecutors to focus on protecting victims.
