@djjd62,
I was referring to cartoons from Hollywood's Golden Age, and more recently some of the cartoony TV cartoons of the 80s and 90s.

@djjd62,
Some of the old Disney shorts, the old WB stuff, the Lantz (Woody Woodpecker) cartoons, the old MGM stuff- and other cartoons along those lines. Cartoony stuff.

@JGoldman10,
Depending on my mood. Animation is my favorite genre of film.

But I do prefer realistic over goofy and cartoony.

@JGoldman10,
Ones that are hand drawn and prerecorded. Life cartoons put a helluva strain on the artist.

@JGoldman10,
He typoed life for live. It's a Simpsons' episode paraphrasing/reference. The one episode where Homer does the voice acting for Poochy the talking dog on the Itchie and Scratchy Show.

The line is spoken by the lady character who voice acts the Itchie and Scratchy characters in order to explain to Homer that real time animation is a nearly impossible task for the animators of the Itchie and Scratchy broadcast.

@Ionus,
Do you mean something a live-action/animation film like Who Framed Roger Rabbit? or something like A Scanner Darkly-in which live action was rotoscoped?

@Ionus,
I think you mean animate something as it happens? Didn't they try to do that at the Academy Awards a few times?

@tsarstepan,
A live cartoon is one in which the animators animate first and then voice the characters? I've never heard of that.
