I'm writing a multicultural comic book-I want to know what's your views on these ideas?

Yes-good cats and dogs vs. bad cats and dogs.

You know what would be really bad ass?

Gangsta capybaras

I mean, because they're ususally portrayed as superhero types, as evidenced by the below...

I think the contrast to the usual stereotype would be jarring and yes, thought provoking.

@chai2,
Cats and dogs are territorial. That's why it'd be be ideal to have cat-and-dog street gangs/streetfighters.

Rabbits have something in common with them. Rabbits could either be neutral or criminal.

@JGoldman10,
Is your comic book idea offensive? Not quite. Is the idea of a world of fighting cats and dog populations been done to death? Probably assume this to be the gospel truth.

I hope your characters hold a nano's ounce of originality.

The Bucktown variation on Brooklyn does sounds like an interesting setting if you actually use actual street settings and the actual flavor of the actual borough rather then just make a vague name reference to Brooklyn. What I'm trying to say is make Bucktown (Brooklyn) an actual character and not just a throw away reference.

Just curious, if this is a family/kids comic book, what is the point of it? Will it have an multicultural/educational message in it? How will you make it a kids comic book? Will you be the comic artist? Or is someone working with you?

@tsarstepan,
Really, can you sight some examples, besides the Catillac Cats?:

I didn't say my idea was 100% original.

Cats have catnip, dogs have anise, which is the dog's counterpart to catnip, and rabbits have other kinds of mints.

Would it be bad to show characters smuggling these things?

@JGoldman10,
Why do you think it would be bad to show characters smuggling? How can you do this project if you are so insecure about all your decisions?

@JGoldman10,
Decide who and what your main characters are going to be, then write out a description of the characteristics of each of those characters, and then make drawings of the characters based on that. Once that is done, come up with storylines to illustrate with your characters.

Greenwitch... he did say it was a family/kid targeted comic book. I guess he might be aiming a really young audience and the smuggling of drugs is the ethical issue at hand as the subject may or may not be seen as too strong for the targeted audience.

@tsarstepan,
I missed the kid thing. How young is young here? Kids' books often have smuggling in them. Don't they smuggle things in the classic Sir Walter Scott's novel Kidnapped? I don't think parents complain about that one.

@Green Witch,
Would it be bad to show characters getting high off of catnip/anise/mint?

Smuggling these things like drugs is what I'm talking about.

@JGoldman10,
I found some sites that might help you further develop them with specific characteristics for each character.

Here is a forum topic addressing some of your same questions -- how to represent ethnicity in anime characters:

AND an African American?

Both at the same time?

If you were to put a capybara in there, even as a walk in, I'd want credit for it.

Life not all cats and dogs and rabbits.

Warren peace, that's a good one.

@chai2,
You being racist?

What is the correlation between capybaras, and cats, dogs and rabbits?

Capybaras aren't popular pets.
